About Us

Why We Started The Balm Co.

It all started with a Google search.
One day, recovering from surgery and unable to lift more than ten pounds for over six weeks, I typed:

“How do you get a six-pack without working out?”

What came back was simple — and it changed everything.
It turns out getting a six-pack has far more to do with what you eat than how much you exercise. You can work out for hours, but if you’re eating the wrong foods, you’ll never see real results. That realization led me down a deep path of research — and straight into the carnivore way of eating.

Within weeks, I lost weight, built muscle, and felt better than I had in years — all while recovering from surgery. (And yes, I work out now!)

Before this change, I had high blood pressure, was pre-diabetic, vitamin deficient, and my cholesterol was off the chart. After changing what I ate, all of that disappeared. My health, energy, and focus came back stronger than ever.

That transformation made me question everything — not just what I was putting into my body, but also what I was putting on it.

If I stopped eating seed oils because they were damaging my health, why was I still rubbing those same oils into my skin every day?

Why Seed Oils Don’t Belong in Food — or on Your Skin

When I started researching, I was shocked by what I found.
Almost every lotion, sunscreen, and hair product on store shelves contains seed or vegetable oils — the same unstable, highly processed oils we now know aren’t good for us to eat.

Common examples include:
Canola, Soybean, Sunflower, Safflower, Corn, Cottonseed, Grape Seed, Rice Bran, Palm, Vegetable blends, Peanut, Hemp, and Pumpkin Seed Oils.

These oils are cheap, industrially processed, and prone to oxidation, which can irritate skin and accelerate damage over time.

Even worse, most commercial skincare and haircare products are made up of 50%–80% water, then filled with preservatives, stabilizers, and synthetic fillers just to keep them from spoiling. When the water evaporates, your skin often ends up drier than before.

We knew there had to be a better way.

That’s when I discovered the benefits of beef tallow — a natural, vitamin-rich fat that closely matches our skin’s biology. When I began using it instead of seed oils, the difference was immediate. That’s how The Body Balm was born — pure, natural, and made to support healthy skin the way nature intended.

And because our balms contain zero water and zero synthetic preservatives, they have a natural shelf life of 1–2 years — staying fresh and effective without all the chemical additives.

A Miracle for Hair

Then came the unexpected breakthrough.
My wife, Monique, had a bad hair-coloring experience that left her hair dry, brittle, and damaged. Out of curiosity, she tried The Body Balm in her hair — and within days, it looked and felt completely transformed. Smooth. Strong. Shiny.

That moment inspired The Hair Balm — a rich, restorative formula that quickly became one of our most-loved products.

From there, we expanded our mission:

To create healthy, effective, long-lasting balms made with pure ingredients that nourish, protect, and restore — for everyone.
